Cook I

This position is based at GRMC Hospital. The Cook I is responsible for preparing meals using standardized recipes, short-order cooking, baking desserts, and maintaining food safety standards. Duties include food preparation, portioning, operating kitchen equipment, and ensuring proper food storage and sanitation practices.

Physical Demands:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 40 lbs
• Exposure to heat, steam, noise, and kitchen equipment
• Must follow safe food handling and body mechanics procedures

Qualifications:

• Understanding of food safety, preparation methods, and sanitation
• Ability to use kitchen tools and follow written instructions
• Knowledge of weights, measurements, and recipe conversion
• Must be 18+, able to speak/read/write English
• Health Certificate required
